Why the winged cinnabar?
The cinnabar moth is a symbol of powerful, natural transformation. Its vivid red and black wings aren’t just beautiful — they’re nature’s way of saying: “I am protected. I am potent. I am not to be hidden.” That message resonated deeply with me on my own healing journey.
Just like the cinnabar moth emerges from its cocoon changed and radiant, so too do we emerge from emotional and energetic healing—lighter, braver, and more aligned with our true selves.
The cinnabar moth lives boldly, flying in daylight unlike most of its kin. It reminds us to step into the light, to embrace who we truly are, and to no longer hide the parts of us that have longed for expression. Its colors symbolize both the shadow and the flame—the parts we fear and the parts we burn to become.
In energy work and Reiki, this balance is essential. We hold space for both pain and peace, darkness and light, releasing old wounds while stepping into clarity and wholeness. The Winged Cinnabar is a tribute to that journey.
It’s a name that honors the transformation that healing makes possible, the courage it takes to be seen and the sacred balance of body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki Healing
My Reiki journey
The first time I came across a cinnabar moth, I was struck by its vivid red and black wings. It felt more than a chance encounter — something about its presence resonated deeply with the way I experience energy through Reiki healing.
The red of the cinnabar moth immediately brought to mind the Root Chakra, which represents grounding, stability, and connection to the earth. At the same time, the moth itself is a symbol of transformation and renewal, reflecting the very essence of what energy healing supports: the gentle movement of energy to restore balance and encourage growth.
As I reflected on this experience, I began to bring the cinnabar moth into my practice as a point of focus. During self-healing and client sessions, I would visualize its wings radiating energy through the chakras, from root to crown, often using crystal tools to enhance the process. This simple imagery deepened the sense of alignment and helped me hold space with more clarity and grounding.
Over time, the cinnabar moth became a personal reminder of how Reiki healing connects us to both the physical and spiritual aspects of life. It encouraged me to trust the natural symbols that appear on our journey and to allow them to guide and strengthen the healing process.
For me, the cinnabar moth is no longer just a striking creature in nature — it has become a quiet teacher. It represents the balance between earth and transformation, stability and flow. Incorporating this symbolism has enhanced my Reiki practice by bringing a greater sense of connection, both to the natural world and to the universal energy that flows through all of us.
